Tanzania & Rwanda Safari

Tanzania Rwanda Safari, This is a unique journey to experience the famed Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater  in Tanzania and follow that with a visit to Rwanda, home to the critically endangered Mountain Gorilla, where we can TWICE track these gentle giants. The Mountain Gorillas inhabit some of the most spectacular scenery on earth, high on the flanks of the Virunga Volcanoes. A veterinarian from the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project will join us during this ecotour, and will detail some of the threats facing these incredible animals.

The experience

This beautiful safari to explores the wildlife rich Ngorongoro Crater and infamous Northern Serengeti, before flying to Rwanda to track the magnificent mountain gorillas. Staying in fantastic accommodation throughout, and offering some of Africa’s best wildlife experiences, this is a wonderful safari for those who want to see the best bits. This highlights safari can also be done in reverse, starting in Rwanda, giving you the option of a beach extension to the stunning Tanzanian Coast or ‘spice island’ of Zanzibar for a bit of relaxation after your adventure.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha, Tanzania

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International airport, you will be met by our Company staff and escorted to settle into the Hotel where your accommodation has been booked on Bed and breakfast basis.Meal Plan: {breakfast, dinner}.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara

After breakfast leave Arusha, then proceed to Lake Manyara After arriving. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drive in the Lake National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of birdlife. Dinner and overnight will be at Kirurumu Tented Camp.

Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti

After an early breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. Lunch will be at Serengeti Sopa Lodge. Spend the afternoon game viewing in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Day 4: Full day in Serengeti

Today , you begin a full day game drive in Central  part of Park, exploring more places including Seronera Area , Seronera river, all offering a variety of wildlife and unique scenic landscape. In the afternoon you will start heading to Western Side of Serengeti for dinner and overnight at Campsite, located near the route of Wildebeest Migration. Day 5: Serengeti-Ngorongoro

This morning, drive in central of Serengeti National Park for game viewing until lunch time. After lunch you will drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Land of the Maasai, of their cattle and of the fauna, this protected area is located in the Great Rift Valley, gigantic fracture of the earth’s crust. Volcanoes, mountains, plains, lakes, forests and archeological sites form this magnificent landscape for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater-Kigali

After breakfast descend in to the Crater for a Crater tour. This 100 square mile natural amphitheatre is host to an astonishing array of wildlife and you may be lucky enough to see rhino, elephant, lion, buffalo as well as large herd’s zebras and wildebeest. Later drive to Kilimanjaro Airport for Kigali Flight, Met by our agent and transfer to Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for dinner and Overnight.

Day 7: Mountain Gorillas

As the first light of dawn breaks through the curtain of mist clinging to the summits of Karisimbi, Bisoke, Sabyniyo, Gahingaand Muhabura, we make our way into the Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas through the unique vegetation can take several hours of challenging walking in wet and muddy conditions. To see a gorilla, the trek will have been worth the hardship.

Day 8: Ruhengeri/Kigali/Depart

Enjoy during the early morning hours the peaceful atmosphere of the volcanoes. Then drive to Kigali or an early lunch. Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
